Let'sunderstand what is Powerline networking?
A Powerline network is essentially awired network with (mostly) hidden wires. Let's say that you have your routerin the living room and your home office is upstairs. Now the only possiblesolution seems to run the Ethernet cable along way from living room toupstairs. Hopefully, you don’t trip on the cables someday!
The Powerline solution is less visible− a 'no new wires' approach. You buy a basic kit, which comes with twoPowerline adapters and two short Ethernet cables. You connect one of theEthernet cables to your router and to the first of the adapters. Then you plugit into the nearest power socket. You click the second Ethernet cable into theback of your computer and into the second adapter. You plug the second adapterinto the nearest power socket.
And that's it. The adaptersauto-detect each other (no drivers, no lengthy configuration process) andauto-connect, enabling data packets to speed from a router to your computer,traveling along the Ethernet cable, into the first adapter, across the electricalwiring in the walls, out into the second adapter and into your computer.
